What You’ll Be Doing
The primary role of the Cactus Park Elementary School Nurse is to promote the health and well-being of students and staff, in order to promote student success and achievement. The School Nurse will work closely with the Social Emotional Health Coordinator, and Special Education Director as a Wellness Team to design and implement wellness initiatives school-wide. The School Nurse will also work with the Office Manager in order to communicate with parents. Cactus Park’s School Nurse will report directly to the Business and Operations Manager.

Roles/Responsibilities
- Responding with urgency to student health and hygiene needs
- Obtaining students’ health history; providing health assessments and ongoing counseling with students, parents, school personnel, or health agencies
- Collaborate with vendors to provide vision, hearing, dental, and growth screenings
- Maintaining, evaluating, and interpreting health data to accommodate individual student needs
- Developing and implementing student health plans
- Developing systems and procedures to provide emergency nursing services for injuries and illnesses
- Administering medication to students, as needed
- Provide general support and coverage to school staff, as needed

Knowledge/Skill Requirements
- Qualified to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Nevada and hold an unrestricted license;
- Current CPR certification;
- Experience in school health, community health, public health, or pediatric nursing;
- Strong written and oral communication skills;
- Strong ability to work with flexibility;
- Excellent organization skills and consistency in meeting deadlines;
- Strong interpersonal and team building skills;
- Experience working in urban environments;
- Knowledge of pedagogy and experience teaching strategies to support all learners;
- Microsoft Office and Google Suite proficiency;
- Language: English proficiency required; bilingual in Spanish preferred;
- Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak and listen. The employee frequently is required to sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus;
